The Erzim

I'm creating a group of creatures called the Erzim for my boyfriends D&D game. This one's called an Archite. I started this project for him in 2006 and the Archite on the left is from then. The one on the right is from last week ,when I picked up the project again to hopefully finish it this time. I've been having a lot of fun working on them and especially seeing some improvement in my arting skills.

Overall I've been a slacker lately on the art side of things. We are looking for a new home with studio space as a must. So I hope to be posting a lot more art soon!

Instead of working on one and finishing it, I end up attempting to multitask and nothing gets finished. I think I've always had that problem but it's more noticeable as of late. Blog post #1! This is definitely gonna be a challenge for me. I'm not so great at explaining myself and so this is me working to help fix that. This blog will consist of me rambling about myself and my artwork as well as things I find interesting and enjoy in life.

I created this some time ago and it pretty much sums up how I see life in general, overwhelming. When I set out to create something I try to keep the imagery lighthearted but meaningful. In that mindset I end up with bright colors and happy images. Subject matter tends to vary from nature, love and fantasy themes.

Since its the start of a new year I think one of my goals to accomplish by the end of 2008 will just be to experiment with new materials and try creating with new themes in mind. I'd also like to work on some of my other weakness such as working with type and color schemes. When I think about the whole world of art it fills me with wonder and I realize that all I want to do in life is be part of it.
